The Houston Caribbean Festival (HCF) executives and organizers are proud to be part of an organization that believes in the advancement of the Caribbean culture! Over the last several years, HCF has experienced tremendous growth, and as a demonstration of our appreciation to our supporters and sponsors, we have established the Ursula M. John Memorial Scholarship Foundation in a effort to give back to the people of our culture.

Ursula M. John, the mother of HCF Founder, Patrick Lewis, lived a life dedicated to her faith, family and close friends before passing away in June of 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Mr. Eversley I John. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children and those very close to her who had the opportunity to know such a gentle and calm soul. Ursula M. John supported the inauguration of HCF when she was first made aware of the dream her son had over 23 years ago. She believed that through dedication, hard work and the unifying of the Caribbean people, that HCF was only destined for great success; a belief that is now an evident reality.

The Ursula M. John Memorial Scholarship is offered by HCF to a selection of students who have excelled in academic merit and has maintained higher than average GPA scores throughout their four years of preparatory education (High School) or during the grad school term. For more information on the scholarship selection process or to apply for HCF Ursula M. John Memorial Scholarship, send your request to info@umjsholarshipfund.org. Please allow up to 2 weeks for a response.
Houston Caribbean Festival expresses sincere thanks for your continued support.
Sincerely,

Patrick Lewis
